Philosophy = Te Aho Matua

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Maungarongo is a place of learning based on whānau involvement and Te Aho Matua.
Te Aho Matua is the culmination of the thoughts, aspirations and wisdom o ngā tīpuna o mua.

This means parents who wish their tamariki to enter our Kura must commit to following Te Aho Matua philosophy, speaking Māori, and supporting the Kura through active participation in a whānau committee.

All lessons are carried out in Te Reo Māori.

We do not have bilingual classes.

Parents are required to ensure their children hear Te Reo Māori outside of Kura hours, to support the work of the teachers and to validate Te Reo as a living language.

Free classes are held for those parents wishing to learn to speak Māori.
Check out our  Facebook Page for the next planned classes.

All whānau are encouraged to tune in to Māori Media such as Radio Wātea 603am and Māori Television in order to keep our language alive.
